          PONGFU GOES TO SCHOOL
Pongfu came out of a laboratory.  It's only natural for 
it to debut in a school.  The quantitative nature of how 
the pongfu skill can be measured makes it gradable.  
Pongfu will also be the first sport that will have a 
curriculum that deals with as much physical training as 
physics.
Ultimately pongfu will become a sport for life, much like 
Kungfu.  So, it's basically a home sport.
What pongfu needs is a group of researchers, who are 
also players, to field it in the tournaments against 
hardcore professional ping pong players.  For this, 
pongfu needs the supports that only colleges can 
provide.
Once colleges take up this challenge, the players in high, 
junior high and elementary schools, could be left largely 
to the ping pong community, rather the schools.  
Though, the college program would pass down its 
innovations and experiences to the programs in those 
pre-college schools.  However, any promising 
proteges of pongfu or ping pong should be allowed to 
be coached and trained in the college's facilities.
Let's look at what a college program will be like.  
First, pongfu should be made an accredited major.  
Pongfu is expected to be so scientific oriented that 
pongfu major would definitely be considered as a 
"hard" major, that desirably should include minors in 
computer science and physics.
The areas of instruction in the pongfu program should 
include:
1.	Pongfu strokes
2.	Pongfu drills
3.	Paddle design features
4.	Table design features
5.	Physical motion of the ball, ball paddle interactions 
and the physiology and psychology of the human 
body
6.	Match analysis with computerized Pongfu Doctor
7.	Tactic analysis and research by future coaches
Voluminous amount of articles and video clips on the 
above subjects had been written and produced on the 
web forums and youtube.com.  And the rate of change 
of them can be measured in days rather than years like 
other sport, so a dynamically up-to-date curriculum 
need to be developed to keep pace.  
The most urgent tasks at hand is for America to catch up 
and China to help out on reach world-class status.
