中国智慧
今天的电脑就是昨天的算盘。如果中国人可真正地充
分珍惜今天的电脑,就如当年用算盘把世界的银子都
赚回来了,我们又可以走偏天下无敌手。
我已经把算盘,电动化了,变成了一个"电算盘"。 手
动的算盘只能解决有加减乘除的问题,而电算盘将突
破任何我们人类想不通的难题。
因为人类其实不是一种专注于"想"的动物,所以困
难的问题还得交给电脑去解决,因而自己可去做些更
有价值的事情。
就像机器已经代替了我们的"肌肉",电脑将代替我
们的"脑子"。 那我们自己呢? 当然要随我们的"心"
去过更有意义的生活。
这个安排解决了"中国心"。 而这里我要解决的是"中
国脑"。 那不是西方传来的什么"人工智慧"。我们
要建立的是"中国智慧"。
简单来说,中国智慧就是电算盘里的"电脑智慧"。
我们的工作是如何把它和人脑结合起来一起"想"问
题。但历史告诉我们这件事并不简单。 
美国为了赚钱而来不及打基础,就已经写出了一个重
的,站不住脚的软件工业。因此已经毁了他们电脑软
件的后期发展。 
印度人很有天分,但一个不够远见的结构已经匆忙的
被无形中所形成。 现在已舍不得,让任何更先进的东
西来代替宝贝的大脑。
中国最近也在高嚷"人工智慧", 对人类在"想"方
面的缺陷拼命在填补, 可能已经自信到了走火入魔的
境界,不能再从天上飞的,降到地上爬的了,来彻底
预先解决那些我们脑力上,天生有缺陷的问题。
我们第一个问题是:人没有"忘记"的能力, 不像电
脑。  因此他不能判断什么是"自然",因为那"自
然"自然是那些他辛辛苦苦地记入脑内的东西。后果
就是被旧的包袱给拖累,而不能向最完美方向发展。
第二个问题是"数学"对一般人都太难了。 而中国智
慧就是要把数学给抹掉,因为数学本来就是用纸和笔
来暂时代替电脑的。如没有了数学,我们可以节省很
多脑力,去发挥在更有效力的地方。
第三是"软件"也太难了,也得除掉, 因为它排除了
太多人在电脑之外。
但刚好软件是中国的短板。而电算盘已经证实了可用
普通语言来写电脑程式,以至中国智慧将可以从物理
和社会问题直接跳到最后想要的答案。
中国智慧将能保送每个人,通过数学和软件的两个难
关。 但要达到这一点,我们得需充分利用,那些人脑
没,电脑有,的高速度和存量。我们的主要任务是,
不惜一切精力和耐力,去把"计算逻辑"彻底写进电
脑。在那"逻辑"里面,将包含那些讨厌的数学和软
件。
要知电脑现在只是个小孩。 但它与普通小孩不同的
是,它的智能是无止境的 - 那就是,如果我们的能
耐去栽培它可跟得上。 所以中国智慧就要看中国能耐
了。
有了电脑逻辑,我们就可和电脑交谈。 基本的策略是
让那逻辑来引导那些交谈。所有的交谈都会被记录下
来。  当然也可以拿来被播放出来。  因此每个人都
可以从他人的贡献里得利。 所以这将会是个全民运
动,一直延续到把整个世界给解决了。
上一次在那简单的算盘时代,很多生意人已经把他们
的脑子和算盘接连在一起。当电脑刚出世的时候,那
些用算盘来帮忙他们心算的人还时常证明他们可以算
的比电脑还快。
今天我们也是在把脑袋和电算盘结合在一起。其实,
比"解决世界"更重要的后果,是电算盘可使我们脑子更
理智。那将可让世界也变得更理智, 因此我们那时可能
去解决很多,我们以前用不理智的脑子所造成的社会
问题。
软件不像硬件,它可让一切发生于瞬那间。 那就是, 
如我们用电算盘去直接控制机器人和其他硬体机件建
造的控制,那将是人类一直所向往的:自动化时代的
来临。 如何去迎接那个似好而非的时代,是我下次要
讲的。



                CHINA BRAIN
Today's computer is yesterday's abacus. If the 
Chinese can truly cherish today's computers, 
much like they once used the abacus to reap all 
the world's silver, then we can become 
invincible once again.
I have robotized the abacus into a robotic 
abacus, or ROBACUS. Manually operated abacus 
can only solve the problems involving addition, 
subtraction, multiplication and division, but 
ROBACUS can break through any difficult 
problem that we humans find too difficult.
Because humans are not really designed to 
"think", so difficult problems have to be passed 
on to the computers. Also, in that way, humans 
can spend time on what they do best and on 
works that are more valuable.
Just as machines have replaced our "muscles," 
computers will replace our "brains."  So, 
what's our job?  Well, we should live a more 
meaningful life that only our "hearts" can guide 
us.
This arrangement has addressed the issue of the 
"China Heart".  And what I want to present here 
is the "China Brain", which should definitely not 
be based on the "Artificial Intelligence" copied 
from the West.  What we want to build is the 
"Chinese Intelligence".
In a nutshell, Chinese Intelligence is the 
"Computer Intelligence" in ROBACUS, or simply 
CI. Our job is to incorporate it with the human 
brain. But history tells us that this is not easy.
America was so anxious to make money, that it 
neglected to lay a solid foundation for it's 
software technology.  Now the software house 
of cards has grown so heavy that it's falling 
down on its own weight. As a result, the final 
stage of software development is being 
seriously hampered.
Indians are very talented, but, in haste, a 
short-sighted software development structure 
has been expediently formed.  They are now 
reluctant to let anything more advanced, like the 
computer, to replace their beloved brains.
Recently, China is also hyping its "Artificial 
Intelligence", which is really an effort to 
desperately fill the defects of the human way of 
"thinking".  The computer professionals may 
have already become so confident that they are 
flying high up in the airy sky that it's going to 
be hard to come back to the solid ground.  But 
building a foundation on the ground is the only 
way we can remove the fundamental pitfalls in 
our brains and on the road to flawless thinking.
Our first pitfall is that humans do not have the 
ability to "forget", unlike the computers, so, they 
could not see what is "natural", as naturalness, 
naturally, would be things that they have 
worked so hard to remember and not to ever 
forget.  Thus, the negative consequence is to 
be burdened by old habits that prevent the work 
from progressing in the most optimal direction, 
as required by this utmost serious matter of 
thinking.
The second problem is that "math" is too 
difficult for the average person. So the Chinese 
Intelligence project is professing to erase math, 
as math was originally just a temporary filled-in 
for the late-arrival computer, and fatally limited 
by the restrictions inherent in using only paper 
and pencil for realistic problem solving. Without 
math, we can save a lot of brain power and use 
them in more effective places.
The third is that "software" is also too difficult 
and needs to be removed because it excludes 
too many people from productively using the 
computer.
Luckily, it so happens software is currently 
China's weakness, possibly due to the lack of 
English skills.  But ROBACUS has proven that 
computer programs can be written in plain 
languages, it such a way that Chinese 
Intelligence can help a computer user solve a 
problem by going directly from the descriptions 
of physical and social phenomena to the final 
desired solutions.
Chinese Intelligence will be able to help 
everyone skip the difficulties of math and 
software. But to achieve this, we need to make 
full use of the high speed and vast storage of 
the computers.  We must program the 
necessary "thinking logic" into the computer at 
all costs and unconditional endurance. That 
"logic" will contain and burden those nasty 
math and software.
A computer today is just an infant. But it is 
different from any ordinary infant in that its 
intelligence is unlimited - that is, if we can afford 
the required endurance to cultivate the 
computer's full potential.   Therefore, 
Chinese Intelligence will depend on China 
Endurance.
With computer logic in place, we would be able 
to carry on a conversation with a computer. The 
basic strategy is to let that logic lead those 
conversations. 
All the conversations will be recorded.  Of 
course, it can also be played back, so that 
everyone can benefit from the contributions of 
others. This implies a nation-wide, grassroot 
movement that will continue until the entire 
world is solved.
Last time,in the era of the simple abacus, many 
businessmen have already connected their 
brains to the abacus. When computers first 
debutted, those who used abacus to help their 
mental calculations often proved that they could 
compute faster than computers.
Today we are also connecting our brains to the 
computer. In fact, the more important 
consequence than "solving the world" is that 
ROBACUS would train our brains to be more 
rational. That will also make the world more 
rational, since now we might have to solve a lot 
of social problems that have been previously 
caused by our irrational brains.
Software, unlike hardware, happens in a flash. 
That is, if we use a computer to directly control 
the construction of robots and other hardware, 
then what emerge will be we humans have long 
been wanting since day one -- the advent of the 
age of automation. How to greet this pandora 
box is what I will talk about next time.
